Blepharospasm

Blepharospasm is an involuntary and repetitive contraction of the orbicularis muscle (upper and lower eyelid muscle) causing the eyelids to constantly shut leaving patients unable to control these movements. Amongst the multiple medical uses of botulinum toxin, it can be used to relax the eyelid muscles when injected in very specific areas around the eyes.
